When the power goes out or something starts sparking, you need an emergency electrician now, not next week. TenCoppers Electric answers 24/7, day or night, weekends and holidays, anywhere in South Carolina.
Call (803) 702-0216. A licensed electrician answers, tells you what to do right now, and gets someone headed your way.
If you see smoke or flames, get everyone out and call 911 first. Then call us.
Call an Emergency Electrician Right Away If…
- Your power is out, or half the house went dead.
- A breaker trips again every time you reset it.
- You smell burning, or you see scorch marks at an outlet or panel.
- Something is sparking, buzzing or hot to the touch.
- Storm damage hit your service line or meter.
- Water got into your panel or meter base after rain or flooding.
What Our Emergency Electrician Team Handles
Power Outages
When the whole house or half of it is dead, or a breaker won't reset, we find the cause. Then we get you back on safely.
Burning Smells and Sparking
Scorch marks and buzzing mean heat is building up. Because these can start fires, call right away.
Storm Damage
A tree can pull the service line or meter off the house. We make it safe, and then we work with the power company to get you reconnected.
Generator Hookups
We install a generator interlock kit and inlet box so your portable generator can also run your panel safely.
First, we find the problem and make it safe. Then we get your power back on as soon as it's safe to do so. If the fix needs a permit, we handle that too.
Call Now or Wait Until Morning?
When in doubt, call. That way we can tell you over the phone whether it needs someone tonight.
Call right away:
- Burning smell, smoke or scorch marks, even if they stop
- Sparking or buzzing outlets, switches or panel
- Power out to the whole house
- Service line pulled off the house (stay clear and call your power company too)
- Water in the panel or meter
Usually can wait until morning:
- One outlet or light not working, while the rest of the house is fine
- A breaker that trips once and then holds
- Flickering in a single fixture, then nothing else
- Planning an upgrade or adding circuits
Not sure which side your problem falls on? Read when to call an emergency electrician and when it can wait until morning.

Emergency Electrician FAQs
Does your emergency electrician really answer 24/7?
Yes. Call (803) 702-0216 any time, day or night, so weekends and holidays are included too. A licensed electrician answers.
Should I call the power company or an electrician?
When the whole street is dark, call the power company. However, when it's just your home, or part of it, call us. Also call us when something at your panel or meter looks damaged. If a line is down, stay away from it and call both.
What should I do while I wait?
If you smell burning or see smoke, get everyone out and call 911. Otherwise, turn off the breaker for that circuit if you can do it safely. Then stay away from anything that is sparking, wet or hot. For more, see the U.S. Fire Administration's electrical fire safety tips.
Do you fix storm damage?
Yes. We repair meter bases, service lines on the house and panels after storms and fallen trees. We also work with the power company to get you reconnected, and we handle the permit and inspection.
Can you hook up my generator during an outage?
Yes. We install a generator interlock kit and inlet box, so your portable generator can safely run your panel. After that, you can flip on the circuits you need.
